Light rain in Delhi fails to bring respite from humidity

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) Light rain in some parts of the national capital on Wednesday afternoon failed to afford Delhiites respite from the sweltering humidity as the maximum temperature settled at 35.4 degrees Celsius, average for the season, the Met office here said.

A weather official said the city recorded 16.3 mm rain at different observatories but it failed to bring down the humidity which oscillated between 91 and 3 per cent.

"Generally cloudy sky with moderate rain is likely to occur on Thursday," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively, on Thursday.

The minimum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average.

The maximum temperature on Tuesday settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average.
