Golden Symphony tour to debut in India in July

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) After it took the Grammy Museum of Los Angeles by storm, it's India's turn now to witness the surge of classical tunes with the debut of the Golden Symphony tour in India.

Grammy-winning cello maestro Barry Phillips along with Lakshay Mohan and Aayush Mohan, disciples of late Pandit Ravi Shankar, will start the three-city tour from Delhi.

The Golden Symphony tour, an initiative by Jabro Advertising, will be held in Delhi on July 23, Bengaluru on July 29 and Mumbai on August 3, read a statement.

Lakshay and Aayush are the only Indian duo to have been invited to perform at the prestigious Grammy Museum.

Lakshay says he has spent a lot of time with Phillips and they understand each other's music well.

He said: “The fact that he has trained under Pandit Ravi Shankar makes him so much more connected to our music and us”.

Aayush also shared that “his playing has such a wide repertoire".

"He has incorporated it all in his style, be it folk or classical or chamber music. We share a good rapport with him off stage as well having spent a lot of time practicing at his home in California,” he added.
