Margot Robbie accepted ‘Suicide Squad’ without reading script

Margot Robbie accepted 'Suicide Squad' without reading scriptLondon, Jul 9 (PTI) Actress Margot Robbie said that she gave a nod to her role in "Suicide Squad" without even seeing the script.

The 22-year-old Australian actress stars as Harley Quinn in the much-anticipated new DC Comics production. She admitted it was the lure of working with director David Ayer that convinced her to accept the part, reported Femalefirst.

"I never really thought to myself, 'Oh, I want to be in a comic-book movie'. When I first heard about it I was about to do a different project, and they said, 'Before you sign on for that, would you consider playing Harley Quinn?'" she said.

"I was like, 'Okay, can I read the script?' And they were like, 'There's no script.' 'Okay, is there anyone attached?' 'No one attached.' 'Is there a director?' 'Yeah, David Ayer.' And I was like, 'Well, I'm in!' And that was kind of it!" she added.

Robbiw admitted to have never harboured any specific ambitions to make a comic-book movie and that it was the presence of the acclaimed director, who has helmed "Street Kings" and "Fury", that convinced her to take the plunge on this occasion.

"I didn't sign on to do a comic-book movie, nor had I ever expected to. But if I was to do it, David was the guy I wanted to work with," she said.
