Two die as small plane crashes near Madrid

Madrid, July 6 (IANS) Two men were killed when their light aircraft crashed and caught fire at the Cuatro Vientos (Four Winds) airport near Spanish capital Madrid, the emergency services reported on Wednesday.

The accident happened at around 9.30 a.m. local time as the two pilots were practicing take-offs and landings, reported Xinhua news agency.

Their aircraft, a modern SR22, crashed into the fire station at the airport.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
