Sonu Sood named ambassador of Delhi franchise of Pro Kabaddi League

New Delhi, July 6 (IANS) Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was on Wednesday named the Team Ambassador and key supporter of Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club (DDKC), the Delhi franchise of the Pro Kabaddi League. The event is set to enter its fourth edition.

As the ambassador, Sonu, who featured in the movie "Dabangg", will be cheering and motivating the team from the stands during their home leg in Delhi from July 24-27 at Thyagaraj Sports Complex and across other venues in the country where the team will be playing.

"Kabaddi is a game which I have played and cherished since my childhood and I never thought that one day, I will become the face of it. I am truly ecstatic to join this team," Sonu said during a conference here.

"The team resonates the spirit of north India and has over the seasons built a strong connection with the entire region and the country," said Saumya Khaitan, CEO, DDKC.

Sonu pointed out how "DDKC has added some exceptional players to the squad like experienced international all-rounder Meraj Sheykh from Iran, the calm and composed Deepak Narwal and a few more."

"In the fourth season of the league, DDKC has a novel composition for the players that are raring to compete for the trophy," added the actor, who will be engaging with Dabang Delhi fans online and on the ground.

He will also be training with the players during the league.
