New Delhi, July 5 (IANS) Newly-inducted ministers in the Narendra Modi government will have their jobs cut out from day one as the Prime Minister has asked them to focus on work, sources said.
The Prime Minister met the new ministers over tea on Tuesday, soon after the swearing-in, and asked them to focus on work and prepare for the upcoming Monsoon Session of parliament which is due to commence from July 12, according to sources.
"Modi asked the newcomers to his council of ministers to diligently learn the working and operations of their respective ministries and start delivering, a source privy to the meeting, who does not wished to be named, told IANS.
"The Prime Minister also said that the role of junior ministers (Minister of State or Deputy Minister) is no less important and that they should focus on work," the source said.
He also told the ministers to approach him directly if they face any difficulty in discharging their duties.
He said that there would be enough time to celebrate after Independence Day, when the parliament session will have come to an end.
