I was pathetic against Murray: Kyrgios

London, July 5 (IANS) Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has said he was "pathetic" against Andy Murray to whom he lost in straight sets at Wimbledon.

Murray needed just 103 minutes to pocket the fourth round match 7-5, 6-1, 6-4 here on Monday.

"The first set was good. The rest of the match was pretty pathetic," Kyrgios was quoted as saying by ESPN.

"I was really comfortable out there the first set. I thought I was playing some really good tennis. I believed that I could win the match. As soon as I lost the first set, I just lost belief. Felt like a mountain to climb."

The 21-year-old also said there are times when he falls out of love with the sport but he does not know what else to do except it.

"At times I don't love the sport. But I don't really know what else to do without it," he said.

"When things get tough, I'm just a little bit soft. I've got experience, but it ultimately comes down to just laying it all out there and competing for a long time. I didn't do that today at all. Whether I was in the locker room sitting down or sitting down next to the court I don't think really made a difference," Kyrgios added.

The young Australian also revealed what Murray told him after the game after the masterful performance.

"(Murray) said sorry," Kyrgios said. "I said, 'It's OK, just win the tournament, please.' Then we hugged."
