Leicester, July 3 (IANS) English football champions Leicester City on Sunday announced they have roped in French midfielder Nampalys Mendy in a four-year contract.
Leicester City can today (Sunday) confirm that we have reached agreement with OGC Nice for the transfer of Nampalys Mendy, subject to Premier League and FA approval, said a statement on the clubs website.
The 24-year-old has agreed terms on a four-year contract and will become Leicester Citys third signing of the summer following the arrival of Ron-Robert Zieler and Luis Hernandez.
Mendy said: I am very happy to come to Leicester City. The team has just enjoyed a great season and its excellent to be here.
"For me I want to play at this level. I like the Premier League and I follow every match. Its fast and physical and I want to impose myself on the league.
I know the coach (Claudio Ranieri), I know his mentality and I know his philosophy. When he speaks its direct and clear and for me I like this."
Mendy is considered as one of the most exciting prospects in France and last season he helped guide Nice to an impressive fourth-placed finish in Ligue 1. He featured in every game for them.
