Kolkata, July 1 (IANS) The Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) will add two more regional centres - in Sikkim and Gujarat - to its existing 16, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar announced here on Friday.
"ZSI has 16 regional centres. We will start two new centres in Gangtok in Sikkim and in Bhuj in Gujarat. We will operationalise them in the next year," Javadekar said at a function to commemorate 100 years of ZSI.
The Minister also launched 'Digital ZSI' and said it would be linked to the National Digital Library project.
"I will talk to Union Minister of Human Resource Development Smriti Irani," he said.
He also stressed the organisation should work with schoolgoers to instill passion to pursue pure science.
