Security reviewed in Delhi after Istanbul attack

New Delhi, June 29 (IANS) Authorities on Wednesday reviewed security measures in the Indian capital following a terror attack at the Istanbul airport that left at least 36 people dead.

Officials in Delhi Police and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said the review particularly involved security at airports, Delhi Metro stations and crowded places in the city.

"Following the Istanbul attack, we have reviewed our security and alerted officers on duty to be more vigilant towards suspicious activities," a Delhi Police officer told IANS.

CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh told IANS that the Delhi airport was already under heightened security alert.

CISF is responsible for internal security at the airports and all Delhi Metro stations in Delhi.

"We are well prepared and there is no need to panic," Singh said.
