Jordan condemns Istanbul airport attack

Amman, June 30 (IANS) Jordan has condemned the terrorist attack that targetted Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport and killed at least 41 people.

Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh condemned the terrorist attack on Wednesday and said a Jordanian national was among the fatalities, Xinhua news agency reported.

The minister also stressed the need for continued international efforts to uproot terrorism.

 

Labeling the attack as "cowardly," the minister said Jordan will continue to fight terrorism.

Also on Wednesday, King Abdullah II of Jordan sent a cable of condolences to Turkish President Receb Erdogan in which he voiced support to Turkey and condemned the attack at Attaturk airport.

On Tuesday, three suicide bombers attacked the airport with machine guns and then blew themselves up, killing at least 41 people and injuring nearly 150 others.
