New Delhi, June 27 (IANS) The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a plea filed by Indian Forest Service officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi against withdrawal of work allocated to him after he joined AIIMS as deputy secretary on deputation in 2012.
A division bench of Justice V. Kameswar Rao and I.S. Mehta dismissed his plea and said a detailed order will be passed later.
Chaturvedi, whose deputation tenure as deputy secretary at AIIMS will end on Tuesday, said the only work he currently has was to sign pension cheques as all other works allocated to him were withdrawn on the orders of institute's director.
The petition said the work withdrawal order makes the post of deputy secretary defunct even as the same was specially created by an order dated June 23, 2011 passed by Union Health Ministry.
Chaturvedi is a 2002 Haryana-cadre forest service officer, who served as the chief vigilance officer at AIIMS from 2012-14 on central deputation and brought to light several large-scale scams at the institute.
The plea challenging the work withdrawal orders passed by the Director, AIIMS, said "is an attempt to humiliate him for his action against corrupt practices in the Institute."
The central government opposed his plea.
