Corrupt practised art of wrongdoing, says Modi

New Delhi, June 27 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that people involved in scams like AgustaWestland and other defence deals are "very experienced" and have "practised the art of doing wrong deeds".

"There are certain powers behind it. The case about Agusta helicopters. I can't deny it and I believe that we have the right to doubt that people behind this are very experienced. They have perfectly practised the art of doing wrong deeds. They are very experienced and knowledgeable," he said in an interview to TimesNow news channel.

He said such scams would not have been possible without a "shield".

Modi also said that his government was not targeting anyone on any of the scam issues.

"Let's see how far the probe goes. But the investigation shouldn't go ahead while people are being targeted, neither does my government target anyone. The sin has been committed, but how much is done, how was it done, who did it, probe agencies will find out in a professional way. Whatever comes out, will be put out," he added.
