Tigress found dead in Rajasthan’s Ranthambore

Jaipur, June 25 (IANS) A tigress has been found dead in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district, officials said.

"The body of T-11, who is around 11 years old, was located by one of the forest guard today (Saturday morning) in Talda forest area of the reserve," a forest department official told IANS.

Sawai Madhopur is over 170 km from here.

The carcase has been sent for post-mortem, said the official, adding that there are no marks of injuries and it does not seem that it is a case of poisoning.

However, he said that the cause of the death would only be known after postmortem report is received.

There are over 58 tigers including cubs in Ranthambore as of now.
