New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) The city saw a sunny and hot day on Friday with the maximum temperature at 39.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, the weather office said. Saturday could see some light rain late in the day.
"The sky will remain partly cloudy on Saturday and there is possibility of very light rainfall with thundershowers towards evening in some part of the city," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to hover around 39 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively.
Friday's minimum temperature recorded one notch above the season's average at 29.2 degrees Celsius.
The maximum humidity was 69 per cent and minimum was 41 per cent.
Thursday's minimum temperature settled at 27.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average and maximum temperature settled at 37.4 degree Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
