Oracle to open ‘digital’ sales hub in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, June 22 (IANS) In a bid to strengthen its Cloud operations in the Asia-Pacific region, software and cloud major Oracle on Wednesday announced it would open five state-of-the-art “digital” sales hubs, including one in Bengaluru.

Oracle plans to hire 1,000 professionals to keep pace with the continued demand for Cloud among mid-size organisations in the region and 20 per cent of the workforce for these hubs will be from India.

“The demand for Cloud is rising fast. As a result, Oracle’s Cloud business in Asia Pacific has been on an upswing. Today, Oracle supports many customers in the region with our vast Cloud portfolio,” said François Lançon, Senior Vice President of Oracle Asia Pacific, in a statement.

Apart from India, the “Digital Selling hubs” will be opened in Australia, China, Korea and Singapore.

Across Asia Pacific, mid-size organisations continue to invest in Oracle’s complete Cloud portfolio owing to enterprise-grade cloud capabilities that are flexible, affordable and scale over time.

“We are witnessing one of the fastest technology adoptions in India with Oracle Cloud. To meet this growing demand, we want a ‘quick action’ sales force that is digitally savvy and will leverage modern software tools to offer a seamless buying experience to our customers,” added Shailender Kumar, Managing Director of Oracle India.

“We will train them and equip them with the most advanced tools and infrastructure to support their roles,” he added.

Last year, Oracle helped mid-size firms across industries in the APAC region including communications, insurance, high tech, media, financial services, health care, e-commerce, natural resources and education, use its diverse Cloud portfolio.
