Mumbai, June 20 (IANS) Puneri Paltan will take on Telugu Titans in the opening match of the fourth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) which starts here on June 25.
It will be followed by a clash between champions U Mumba -- winners of the second season -- and inaugural season champions Jaipur Pink Panthers.
"The sport must not only encourage our players, but also give countless millions who follow it a thrill. The past three seasons have proven that the country is ready to not only watch and accept more of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi, but also form loyalties toward players and teams," International Kabaddi Federation chief Janardan Singh Gehlot said in a statement on Monday.
"Season 4 will only reinforce that the Kabaddi eco system will grow stronger as the league progresses," he added.
The semi-finals are scheduled for July 29 while the third place play-off and final will be played on July 31.
The fourth edition of the PKL will see 24 international players from across 12 countries including Iran, Kenya, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and United Kingdom.
