New Delhi, June 19 (IANS) India on Sunday said that its growing engagement with the US will not impact its relations with countries like Russia and China nor this will dilute New Delhi's commitment to forums like the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

"It is true we have enhanced engagement with the US now. But that does not impact our relations with Russia or China. Nor the growing Indo-US relations will put at stake our national interest," External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told reporters here.

She said similarly no question arises about diluting India's decade-long stand on the NAM.

"Our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) has himself said that NAM is like our heritage," she said.

The minister also expressed satisfaction that India has been designated as a major defence partner by the US but said, details of technology transfer and other issues will be worked out in due time.
