Bhopal, June 19 (IANS) The monsoon signalled its arrival in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday with several areas in the eastern part of the state receiving rain. The met office has warned of heavy rain at some places in the next 24 hours.
The regional meteorological office's director Anupam Kashyapi told reporters that the monsoon entered by way of Chhindwara and registered its presence in Jabalpur and Sidhi.
According to Kahyapi, the monsson is expected to reach the state capital in 24 to 48 hours while the city has already received showers over the last two days. Heavy rain is expected in Jabalpur, Khandwa and Burhanpur districts within 24 hours.
