Mumbai, June 18 (IANS) India skipper and star batsman Virat Kohli returned to training on Saturday, ahead of the all-important Test series in the West Indies next month.
The 27-year-old Delhi-born batsman has been in the form of his life as he bagged the orange cap after finishing as the top run-getter with 973 runs in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) recently.
Before the cash-rich tournament, he also bagged the man-of-the-tournament award in the World Twenty20 at home where he guided India to the semi-finals.
On Saturday, Kohli tweeted a picture of himself along with his kit bag in his car while heading for a training session.
Kohli, who has been rested for India's ongoing limited overs tour of Zimbabwe, had taken a break from cricket after the IPL.
"Guess who is back. On my way for my first net session. And that's how I feel; that good old feeling #Grateful," Kohli tweeted on Saturday.
India will play two warm-up games before the gruelling four-match Test series against the West Indies during their 49-day tour of the Caribbean.
The tour will start with a two-day practice match from July 9 in St. Kitts followed by a three-day warm-up match from July 14 at the same venue.
The first Test will begin from July 21 at the Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda while the second will be from July 30 at the Sabina Park in Jamaica.
The newly named Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium at St. Lucia will host the third Test from August 9 while the final match will be played at the Queen's Park Oval from August 18 in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Kohli-led team is expected to depart for the Caribbean on July 6 with a new look coaching staff.
