Lisbon, June 17 (IANS) Argentine attacking midfielder Nico Gaian has said goodbye to Benfica and its fans after six football seasons in the Lisbon club during which he said he has felt supported at all times.
"It's time to say goodbye, they were six fantastic years that I will never forget," said the player in a message posted through social networks from the United States, where he is with the Argentinian national side in its Copa America campaign, reports Efe.
Atletico Madrid announced on Thursday signing the player for 25 million euros ($28 million).
The Argentine international said that from now on he is a fan of Benfica and recalled that this year they have won the Primeira Liga title for the third consecutive year.
