New Delhi, June 17 (IANS) The Election Commission on Friday put up on its website a new copy of the Rajya Sabha election results in Haryana after an earlier one showed the column against the name of media mogul Subhash Chandra as blank.
In the result uploaded on the EC website on Thursday, the column against Chandra's and Congress-backed candidate R.K. Anand's names appeared blank.
But BJP leader and Union Minister Birender Singh was shown as elected in the result.
Chandra, the chairman of Zee media group, was declared victorious in the election to the upper house of Parliament held on June 11 after 14 Congress' votes were deemed invalid by the electoral officer on account of using a different pen than the one provided by the officials.
The Congress has alleged a deep conspiracy behind the whole episode and demanded a thorough probe into the matter.
The new result uploaded shows Birender Singh as Elected-I and Chandra as Elected-II.
EC sources said that the Commission would look into how the earlier result sheet made its way to the website.
