Rome, June 15 (IANS/AKI) A middle-aged doctor shot dead his wife dead during a row at their third-floor apartment in a Naples suburb on Wednesday before jumping from a window to his death, police said.
Aniello Lamberti, 59, shot his 56-year-old wife Angelina Fusco in the head with an unlicenced pistol at their home in Palma Campania before leaping to his death.
Lamberti worked as an orthopedist in at the main hospital in the nearby town of Nola, east of Naples. The couple had two adult children who had both left home.
Fusco and Lamberti were said to have had marital problems for years.
A woman is murdered in Italy approximately every three days, usually by husband, partner or ex.
