Kolkata, June 14 (IANS) Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said every state has either supported or accepted the idea of the pan-India Goods and Services Tax (GST) except Tamil Nadu, which has expressed reservations.
"Every state has given their views on the GST. Every state has supported the idea of GST and only one state -- Tamil Nadu -- has expressed its reservations," Jaitley said here.
He said although Tamil Nadu has reservations, the state has affirmed that the GST is highly implementable and has offered some suggestions in this regard.
Thus, every state has either supported or accepted the idea of GST, Jaitley added.
Finance ministers of 22 states are attending the meeting of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers on GST on Tuesday, which will continue till latter part of the day.
