Allahabad, June 13 (IANS) The BJP on Monday launched a multi-pronged approach to take on rivals including the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the run up to the crucial elections in Uttar Pradesh early next year even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave party workers a list of "mantras" in pursuing growth for the party and serving the country.
Lashing out at the Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party, the Prime Minister accused it of practicing "casteism, communalism and nepotism".
Modi said at a party rally here that both Samajwadi Party and BSP virtually have "jugal bandi (contractual arrangement)" in Uttar Pradesh and that "true develpment can come only when it is kept secluded from 'ahankar (arrogance)', 'bhai-bhatija vaad (nepotism)', bhrashtachar (corruption) and jaati-vad (casteism)".
Prime Minister said during his last two years stint he has been struggling hard to keep things under check and fight the menace of nepotism and corruption.
He also flayed Congress and referred to various corruption cases like in the purchase of helicopter, aircraft, guns and cooking gas subsidy.
Setting the stage for Bharatiya Janata Party's poll campaign in the electorally crucial state, that sends 80 MPs to Parliament, Modi said that he will strive to do in five years what could not be done in the past 50 years.
Modi, an elected MP from Varanasi, said that BJP will move forward in the state with "development" as its agenda.
"We have to move only on development. The work that previous governments could not do in the past 50 years, I will try to do in five years," Modi said at the rally held on the conclusion of the two-day BJP executive meeting.
Modi said that both Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati make allegations against the other when in opposition but do not take action on their charges when they are in power.
"There is an interesting contract in UP. There is collusion between Mulayam Singh and Mayawati (about coming to power every five years)," he said.
A party resolution passed at the concluding day of the two-day BJP national executive meet here also said that the mandate of Assam calls for a "very special mention", and described it as "hard-earned victory" for the party.
Earlier addressing the rally, the political pitch for the coming UP polls was laid down firmly by BJP president Amit Shah.
"The road to Delhi in 2019 will be via Lucknow. You bring about change of regime in Lucknow. Modi will come back as the Prime Minister in 2019," Shah said.
In his address to the party leaders and workers at the national executive meet, Modi said that "Sense of service, balance, patience, coordination, positive attitude, sensitivity and dialogue" should be the seven-point Mantras that should guide them.
Briefing reporters, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley ridiculed the claims of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav that law and order situation in the state has not deteriorated.
"If the law and order situation of the state is good then he should fight next assembly elections in 2017 over it. Let there be referendum over it. We are ready for it. If referendum takes place, it will be a setback for Samajwadi Party," Jaitley said.
The party passed two separate resolutions, enunciating in details the Modi government's achievements and party's electoral success in Assam and for making grounds in some states like Kerala, West Bengal and Telangana.
The political resolution passed at the meet that was attended by BJP chief ministers, state unit leaders and union ministers claimed that in last two years BJP has laid the foundation of a futuristic India through good governance and a reformist vision.
The party executives asserted that the Modi-led government "has set new procedures for transparent functioning in last two years".
The party executive also passed a separate resolution that said: "Congress-Mukt Bharat for us is not merely about defeating Congress Party at the hustings everywhere, although that will be the primary objective of our party."
A Congress-free India would mean ridding the country of the Congress brand politics -- "corruption, nepotism, politics of inheritance and blue blood, arrogance and non-accountability, politics of obstructionism and vote banks".
