New Delhi, June 11 (IANS) Veteran journalist Inder Malhotra died at a Delhi hospital on Saturday. He was 86.
Malhotra is survived by his son Anil Revri. His wife Rekha Malhotra died in 2007.
The veteran journalist was on life support for the last few days at Max Hospital, Saket.
The cremation will take place at Lodhi Road electric crematorium on Sunday morning.
Malhotra began his career with the United Press of India (UPI) and later worked at The Statesman and The Times of India, New Delhi. He also contributed for The Guardian.
His publications include 'Indira Gandhi: A Personal & Political Biography and Dynasties of India And Beyond'.
He was working on a book 'Indian Security: Past, Present and Future'.
Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted: "One of the doyens of political journalism Inder Malhotra passes away. Saw India from Nehru to Modi. RIP."
Another journalist Chandan Mitra tweeted: "I am blessed to have been guided by Inder Malhotra at The Statesman, my 1st job. He was a 24×7 journalist, a pillar of 4th Estate. RIP Inder."
