Ibrahimovic transfer talks on hold during Euro 2016: Sweden coach

Nantes (France), June 10 (IANS) Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's transfer to Manchester United is on hold as Sweden’s head coach Erik Hamren has said "it would not be okay" for him to travel to England and complete the deal while the Euro 2016 is on.

Hamren said he is relaxed about the ongoing media furore surrounding the captain.

"Players have their leisure time on the schedule, what they do then there's nothing I can do to control. But it would not be okay for Zlatan to fly to Manchester," Hamren was quoted as saying by Skysports on Friday.

"I'm one hundred percent sure (the furore) it will not affect Zlatan. He has been in the business a long time. He handles it perfectly."

"The players of the national team are accustomed to all the rumours surrounding Zlatan too. They are familiar with it. There is absolutely nothing that has affected us negatively in the group."

However, Hamren believes the star forward would not be affected with all the rumours flying around.

"I am for sure the rumours surrounding the captain will not affect the team. I understand there is a lot of Zlatan news in the media, not only in Sweden. But, with us, it is nothing," he said.

Sweden will open their campaign against Ireland on June 13. They will take on Italy in their second group match on Friday June 17 before a clash with Belgium in Nice on June 22.
