Leverkusen's Kramer rejoins Monchengladbach

Berlin, June 9 (IANS) German football club Borussia Monchengladbach has signed midfielder Christoph Kramer from Bayer Leverkusen in a five-year contract.

"He knows our team, he knows the club and he will play an important role within our young team due to his experience and his personality," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said in a statement.

The 25-year-old, who passed the medical tests on Wednesday, played in Monchengladbach from 2013 until 2015 on loan where he scored five goals in 73 appearances, reports Xinhua.

"I did not make the decision against Leverkusen but in favour of Monchengladbach. I made my first experiences here and had an unbelievable great time," Kramer said.

The Germany international was part of Germany's 2014 World Cup winning squad. He made overall 12 outings for the national team.

However, he has not been considered for the Euro championship starting on Friday in France.

The "Foals" completed the Bundesliga season on the fourth place to secure a berth in the UEFA Champions League play-offs.

They have already lost a key midfielder in Swiss international Granit Xhaka, who has signed up with English giants Arsenal.
