Joshua Kimmich rejoins Germany’s training

Marseille, June 9 (IANS) German midfielder Joshua Kimmich returned to training with the national football team on Thursday after being pulled from practice a day earlier by coach Joachim Loew as a precautionary measure.

Kimmich had a mild cold and Loew did not want to include him in Wednesday's training session to avoid creating problems for the team, which is still dealing with the injury sustained by Mats Hummels, reports Efe.

During the past season, Pep Guardiola depended on Kimmich at Bayern Munich in both the midfield and defence, and Loew can use him in the back in case Shkodran Mustafi, Benedikt Howedes or Jerome Boateng suffer an injury.

Germany will open its Euro 2016 campaign on Sunday against Ukraine in Group C, which also includes Poland and Northern Ireland.
