Bhubaneswar, June 8 (IANS) The Odisha government on Wednesday asked all departments to spend at least 25 per cent of allocated fund by the end of June this year.
Presiding over all secretaries meeting here, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed the departments to speed up the implementation of the projects, monitor the expenditure regularly and achieve at least 25 per cent of expenditure by end of June.
Development Commissioner R. Balakrishnan advised to make online reconciliation of expenditure by using the facility already made available in iFMS software.
The departments were also asked to use utilisation certificate monitoring system for submission of utilisation certificates in time, said a release.
The departments were also advised to make use of financial advisors posted in various departments to go into details of the software and advise the department accordingly, it added.
It was decided in the meeting that Finance department would prepare frequently asked questions (FAQs) for all departments containing advisories about which matters need to be referred and which need not be referred to Finance. This would save the time lost in routing many project files through finance department, said an official.
Besides, Padhi asked IT secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena to set up one e-waste disposal centre in Bhubaneswar and issue advisories to various offices and educational institutions about the right way of e-disposal.
Home secretary Asit Tripathy was asked to strictly enforce the ban of gutuka sale near the educational institutions. All departments were advised to open their Facebook and Twitter accounts and upload valuable information for people.
