Damascus, June 6 (IANS) At least 16 people were killed in air strikes targetted at a marketplace in Syria's Deir al-Zour province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The London-based Observatory did not identify the warplanes that had carried out the strikes, Xinhua news agency reported.
Meanwhile, the opposition group, Qasioun, alleged that the air strikes were carried out by Russian warplanes on the Islamic State (IS)-held town. It put the death toll at 23.
