McQuarrie slams ‘Rogue One’ reshoot rumours

Los Angeles, June 5 (IANS) Filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie has set the record straight on rumours suggesting that he supervised reshoots for "Rogue One: A Stars War Story".

The "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" writer-director was rumoured to take over the film's reshoots after "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams reportedly declined the offer.

"If there are any reshoots on Rogue One, I'm not supervising them," McQuarrie said in a statement, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"For any outlet to say so is not only wrong, it's irresponsible. Gareth Edwards ('Rogue One: A Stars War Story' director) is a talented filmmaker who deserves the benefit of the doubt.

"Making a film -- let alone a 'Star Wars' chapter -- is hard enough without the internet trying to deliberately downgrade one's years of hard work. Who does that even serve? Let him make his movie in peace," he added.

McQuarrie also ranted on Twitter, saying: "Attention: Bloggers. I'm reading some horses**t rumours tonight. You know where to find me. Do your jobs".
