Technical snag hits services on Delhi Metro’s Blue Line

New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) Metro rail services on the Dwarka-Noida City Centre/Vaishali route were disrupted on Friday morning due to track circuit failure near Rajendra Place Metro station, a DMRC statement said.

Trains on the Blue Line were running at restricted speed due to the technical snag, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said.

"Metro trains are running at a restricted speed of 25 kmph between Rajendra Place and Patel Nagar due to Track Circuit Drop (failed) which is leading to bunching of trains on the track causing delay in services," the statement said.

DMRC made three attempts to identify the problem but the technical team had limited access to the tracks.

The statement said: "Prima facie, it appears the Track Circuit needs detailed investigation to identify the actual cause of the problem, for which access to track is required for longer duration. This is preferred to be done after revenue hours only. Till then services will be delayed on the Blue Line."
