New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Automobile major Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Thursday said it has advanced the regular bi-annual maintenance closure of its plants.
"MSIL has, with the cooperation of all employees, advanced the regular bi-annual maintenance closure of its plants, earlier scheduled from June 27 to July 2 to June 6 to 11," the company said in a statement.
"This will enable the closure period to be utilised for arranging supply of components, both from M/s Subros Limited as well as from other sources, and result in higher production volumes after the closure."
According to the company, the manufacture of cars, to the extent of component availability, was continuing at its Gurgaon plant.
The automobile major had resumed production at its Gurgaon facilities from the latter half of Wednesday.
The company had to suspend production of cars at its Manesar and Gurgaon facilities from the latter half of Monday, due to component supply constraints. A fire incident at the company's component manufacturer Subros' production facility on Sunday (May 29) led to disruption in supplies.
