New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Automobile manufacturer Mahindra Electric on Thursday launched its first all-electric, zero-emissions sedan -- eVerito.
According to the company, the D2 variant of the sedan is priced at Rs. 9.50 lakh (ex showroom Delhi, post state subsidy and FAME incentive).
The eVerito is an innovative combination of advancements in automotive, electronics and information technology, paired with minimal running costs and zero tailpipe emissions. It is the perfect family car for intra city use, Arvind Mathew, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Electric said in a statement.
The eVerito is powered by the latest electric drivetrain technology from Mahindra Electric.
The direct drive single speed transmission eVerito can be charged at home as well as quick charged in 1 hour and 45 minutes through fast charging technology, the statement said.
The company elaborated that on a full charge, the new sedan can travel for up to 110 kms (based on vehicle loading) and can achieve a top speed of 86 km per hour.
"The running cost of a eVerito is as low as Rs 1.15 per km. Considering cost of electricity Rs 7 per unit. The car needs 18 units for full charge, and has a range of 110 km," the statement said.
The new sedan features telematics that helps to capture more than 190 vehicle performance parameters which enables remote monitoring and diagnostics.
"Customers receive monthly statistics on charging patterns, distance travelled, Co2 saved, eco points earned, fuel saved," the statement added.
In addition, the new vehicle comes with a unique feature -- "Revive" which allows the car to run an extra eight km even on low energy.
