Dhaka, June 2 (IANS) Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Khaleda Zia's deposition in a graft case has been deferred once again, officials said on Thursday.
Dhakas Third Special Judge has fixed June 23 to hear the former prime ministers statement in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case, where she has been accused of embezzling 31.5 million bangladesh taka ($401,729), bdnews24 reported.
The court was scheduled to hear Khaleda on Thursday, when the BNP chief appeared before it and pleaded for more time.
After skipping the deposition several times, the BNP chairperson arrived at the court at Old Dhakas Bakshibazar.
On May 19, after rescheduling the hearing for fifth time, the court warned that an arrest warrant will be out for her if she failed to appear on Thursday.
The case was filed in 2010 against five people, including the three times premier and charges were pressed on four others in 2012.
In 2013, the trial began after the court indicted the four.
