Hot Thursday in Delhi, mercury to rise on Friday

New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Delhi witnessed a warm sunny day on Thursday with the day's maximum temperature settling at 42.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. The Met office predicted a warmer day on Friday.

"The sky will remain mainly clear throughout the day on Friday. Dust/haze is likely to occur in towards morning/evening," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday will hover around 43 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively, the official added.

According to weather office humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 56 per cent while it was 23 per cent in the evening.

Thursday's minimum temperature was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, the Met Office said.

Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded at 39.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average.
