Disabled students score 100% success in Tripura secondary exam

Agartala, June 2 (IANS) All the 24 differently-abled students succeeded in this year's Tripura Madhyamik (secondary) examination, the results of which declared on Thursday.

Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) president Mihir Deb said that nine blind students including three girls appeared in this year's Madhyamik (class ten) examination and all of them were successful.

He said that 15 others physically-challenged students sit in the examination and got passed.

"Of the total of 45,535 candidates appeared this year's Madhyamik examination, held in March, 66.14 per cent students have succeeded against 66.41 per cent last year," Deb told reporters.

The TBSE chief said that 40.98 per cent of the total 9,822 tribal students who appeared were successful against the last year's pass percentage of 43 per cent.

Deb, a renowned educationist, unlike previous years, boys outshone girls in merit positions.

In all 13 students jointly got the top ten positions and of them five are girls and eight boys.
