Another top aide of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani held

Jammu, June 1 (IANS) A week after capturing a top aide of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday said they had apprehended another close associate of the most wanted militant.

"Security forces have arrested a close aide of most wanted Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani from Tral area of south Kashmir," Colonel S.D.Goswami, spokesman of army's Udhampur headquartered northern command, told IANS.

"On specific information, police and army apprehended Noor Mohammad Dar, son of Abdul Aziz Dar, of Gulshanpora Tral in Pulwama district today (Wednesday)," he said, adding Tariq Pandit was arrested from Pulwama last week.

Goswami also said that based on the specific information, security forces have also busted four hideouts during the last seven days and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition a cross Jammu and Kashmir.

"Army's 44 Rashtriya Rifles and special operations group of state police in Shopian district today (Wednesday) busted a hideout in Yarwan forests and recovered an AK-47 rifle with magazine, a Chinese grenade and 76 rounds of AK-47 rifle."
