Nay Pyi Taw, May 31 (IANS) Myanmar formed a 10-member committee to work on reformation of the country's peace centre as National Reconciliation and Peace Centre (NRPC), according to an announcement of the President's Office on Tuesday.
The committee is chaired by U Kyaw Tint Swe, minister of the Office of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and its vice chairman is Lt-Gen Ye Aung, minister of the Border Affairs, Xinhua news agency reported.
The committee members include Tin Myo Win, Suu Kyi's personal doctor as Peace Negotiator.
In accordance with the directive of Suu Kyi, the committee will form the NRPC in Nay Pyi Taw and the former Myanmar Peace Centre in Yangon will play as a branch of the NRPC.
The committee is tasked to ensure NRPC to undertake the coordination process for getting foreign aid and utilisation of state budget and donors' fund.
The committee will also submit proposals to the state counsellor to include those deemed as necessary and NRPC is to run as an institution by regularly holding meetings and adopting decisions.
