New Delhi, May 31 (IANS) The Delhi University on Tuesday announced that it will be conducting open sessions for students seeking admission in undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic year 2016-17.
The sessions, from June 1 to June 4 at the varsity's conference centre in the North Campus, will aim at guiding students through the new admission process. The varsity had announced that it will go fully online for the registration and admission of students for its UG programmes.
Speaking to IANS, admission committee 2016-17 spokesperson Dr. Sunaina said: "Primarily these open sessions are being conducted for counselling purposes. Students and their parents will be able to clear various doubts such as online admissions process, which particular course, college to choose, teaching pattern at DU and all the other queries."
The sessions will be conducted in two time slots per day i.e. 10 a.m to 1 p.m followed by 4 p.m to 7 p.m.
According to the spokesperson, the university is anticipating 100-200 participation during each Open Session slots.
"Trained DU scholars, and university teachers will be guiding the teachers during the open sessions. We have also hired some trained professionals for the counselling of students for UG admissions," she said.
The sessions will also be conducted in S.G.T.B Khalsa college on June 6, Venkateshwar college on June 7, Zakir Hussain college on June 8 and 9 and in the South Campus on June 10 and 11.
