Airtel launched Platinum 3G in all 149 towns in Punjab

Chandigarh, May 31 (IANS) Telecom major Airtel on Tuesday announced that its Platinum 3G services has been launched in all 149 Census towns across Punjab.

"Airtel Platinum 3G, which is being offered on the efficient 900MHz spectrum band, offers a superior mobile experience to customers through faster mobile data speeds, significantly enhanced indoor data coverage and better voice clarity," Airtel's Hub CEO, Upper North, Manu Sood told media here.

"Airtel Platinum 3G is available in all 149 census towns across Punjab circle. With the combination of Airtel 4G and Platinum 3G, the company has the largest and widest high speed internet network deployment in the state that offers its customers unparalleled mobile broadband coverage," he added.

The Platinum 3G network will also help further optimize the backend engagement between the network and mobile devices, thus allowing customers to enjoy extended battery life on their phones, a company spokesperson said.

Airtel's high-speed 4G services, which are being offered using a combination of 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz technologies across Punjab, are currently available in over 50 towns across Punjab.
