Sony launches its first ‘X’ series smartphones in India

New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) Sony India on Monday unveiled its "X" series smartphones -- Xperia X and Xperia XA -- that claim to have two-day long battery life and fast photo capture feature.

While Xperia X will be available for Rs.48,990 from June 7, the Rs.20,990 Xperia XA will be available from third week of June.

The smartphones have new layers of intelligent technology and Xperia features in camera, battery and design, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The Xperia camera allows a user to shoot in sharp focus and takes spontaneous photos. Camera start-up is twice as fast and shots are captured in approximately 0.61 seconds.

The "Predictive Hybrid Autofocus" in Xperia X series lets a user choose a subject and then predicts its motion.

Xperia X features a 64 Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and Xperia XA has the 64 Bit MediaTek MT6755 processor.

Xperia X offers 23MP rear camera and a 13MP wide-angle front camera with Sony Exmor RS. It has 3GB RAM, up to 32GB flash memory (single SIM and up to 64GB flash memory for dual SIM) expandable up to 200GB microSD card. It runs on Android marshmallow and has 2,620 mAh battery.

Xperia XA has 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It has 2GB RAM, up to 16GB onboard memory expandable up to 200GB microSD card. It also runs on Android marshmallow and has 2,300 mAh battery.

Xperia X and Xperia XA both have dual SIM capabilities and support 4G network.

The devices will be available at all Sony centres, Xperia flagship stores, top mobile and electronic stores and online on Amazon.
