Bamako, May 30 (IANS) At least five peacekeepers were killed and one critically injured in an ambush against a convoy of the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA), an official said.
In a statement that did not provide information about the nationalities of the victims nor the perpetrators of the ambush, head of MINUSMA Mahamat Saleh Annadif "strongly condemned the incident" that occurred on Sunday.
"This crime was an addition to other terrorist acts that have targeted peacekeepers, something that constitutes crimes against humanity according to international law," he said.
He said "every effort will be done to identify the perpetrators of the odious crime".
