Imphal, May 27 (IANS) A trooper was injured when a patrol party of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) was attacked by the outlawed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) underground organisation in Manipur, an official said.
The RPF on Thursday claimed responsibility for the Wednesday's attack that took place at Moirang Purel, Imphal East district.
IRB personnel from Chandigarh have been undergoing a condensed two-month training course in counter insurgency operations in Manipur.
The People's Liberation Army, the military wing of the Revolutionary People's Front had planted two bombs at the fringe paddy fields of the main road.
In the two explosions, one personnel, identified as Sandeep from Chandigarh, was wounded by the bomb shrapnel.
A statement issued by the RPF said that the incident inflicted casualties among the personnel.
