Ghaziabad, May 25 (IANS) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) K. Sudhir Emmanuel on Wednesday took charge as SSP Ghaziabad and announced zero tolerance for corruption and measures to prevent crime.
A 2003 batch IPS officer, Emmanuel, who hails from Hyderabad, had been with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for four years from 2010 to 2014. Before joining as Ghaziabad SSP, he was SSP Allahabad and SSP Kanpur, besides also serving in other cities.
Talking to media persons in the police lines, the officer said the focus would be on sensitivity in dealing with crimes against women, and on tackling trafficking and drug peddling.
He also spoke of strengthening the IT cell to tackle cyber and financial fraud related crimes.

Regarding shortage of work force, the officer said he would seek more police force for better patrolling. Improving the traffic system was also on his radar for which he said he would chalk out a strategy to tackle the traffic problems.
