Murray survives tough French Open first round match

Paris, May 24 (IANS) Scot Andy Murray fought hard to get through to the second round of the French Open tennis tournament beating Czech veteran Radek Stepanek 3-6, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3, 7-5 here on Tuesday.

In a long match that lasted for 3 hours and 41 minutes, Murray, World No.2, came back after losing the first two sets, reports Efe.

Despite Stepanek's age, 37, and being No.128 in the singles rankings, he played an amazing game against Murray.

Murray's next opponent will be Frenchman Mathias Bourgue, who defeated Spanish Jordi Samper-Montana 7-5, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (8).
