Turin, May 23 (IANS) Juventus have had an extraordinary football season after a "moment of difficulty", says chief coach Massimiliano Allegri.
The Italian giants got off to a slow start before bagging 25 wins in 26 games and laying hands on their fifth consecutive Serie A title.
They followed it up with a Coppa Italia win over AC Milan on Saturday which helped them achieve the rare double.
"After four years in which a cycle was finished, in which experienced players left -- not just (Andrea) Pirlo, (Carlos) Tevez and (Arturo) Vidal but (Marco) Storari, (Simone) Pepe, (Angelo) Ogbonna and (Fernando) Llorente were a part of that winning team -- 10 new players arrived and it wasnt easy, Allegri was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.
We had a moment of difficulty, but firstly the club and then the players put ourselves back in line. We were 14th in the table after 10 rounds, the guys did something extraordinary together with the club.
Winning 25 games out of 26 isnt simple, the numbers were extraordinary. The season was memorable and it finished with the beautiful Coppa Italia victory.
