Paris, May 23 (IANS) French police admitted on Monday there were security flaws during the Paris Saint-Germain-Olympique Marseille game in the French Cup final, indicating that the proposed measures to secure the Euro 2016 should be reviewed.
Philippe Galli, police cheif of Seine-Saint-Denis, told radio station Europe 1 that the fans crowded into checkpoints during the match, won 4-2 by PSG on Saturday, reports Efe.
Galli added that security measures were less stringent, so such flaws should be revised.
Jean-Christophe Lagarde, member of parliament for Seine-Saint-Denis, told the radio station that it seemed the security measures requested by European football body UEFA were not applied, which could lead to an increase in risks.
The Euro 2016 will be held in France from June 10 to July 10 and is expected to attract 2.5 million viewers, in addition to more than 7 million visitors.
Given the challenge of the European tournament, French authorities decided to extend the state of emergency declared following the Paris terror attacks, which killed 130 people last November.
