Los Angeles, May 21 (IANS) Actor Michael Keaton has reportedly been finalised to play the villain in the upcoming superhero film "Spider-Man: Homecoming".
There has not been an official confirmation over Keaton's casting from Marvel Studios. If he joins the project, Keaton will play the iconic Spider-Man villain The Vulture, reports variety.com.
This is not the first time that Keaton has been attached to star in "Spider-Man: Homecoming", which will feature Tom Holland in the title role.
Keaton was being eyed to play the villain in April, but talks had barely begun before the actor pulled his name from consideration over money issues.
According to sources, the dispute occurred after Robert Downey Jr. was added to the cast to reprise his role as Iron Man. At the time, it appeared as though the studio wouldnt be able to afford both talents.
With Downey Jr.s deal now closed, insiders say that the makers have now returned to Keaton and have found a way to make both parties happy.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming will feature Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.
Plot details for the film are being kept under wraps.
